With this week’s death and funeral services of President George H. W. Bush, we have seen a great deal of civility and national unity. It always does my heart well to see this sort of camaraderie in our country, especially considering the constant bickering, name-calling, and hateful talk that normally comes from Washington, and the rest of the nation on a daily basis.
Regardless of your feeling for the former president, one thing that is apparent is that during the time of Bush 41 and before, there was greater cooperation and thoughtfulness in every part of the political arena. Prior to and during Bush 41’s presidency, there were disagreements over issues and differing plans on what was best for the country, but those disagreements were generally handled in a professional and respectable manner even when members hated the other members.
In today’s government it’s quite the opposite. Today, the hatred is openly displayed and even if the members of the two parties actually get along, they can’t be seen as such in the public eye. It’s too hard for these members to admit that while they don’t agree with the other side, they actually can have a friendship with each other. It’s too hard because we as a society can’t believe that we can be friends with those who have different political views.
When Jack Kemp died a few years back, thee was talk about how to bring civility back into politics. When John McCain died recently, there was once again talk of bringing civility back into politics. And this week once again, we talk of how civility has been lost in the halls of government. Yet in reality, all this talk will fade in the next week.
This time next week we will once again be in a place where one state party is trying to boost membership by offering bumper stickers that don’t promote their party, but make fun on the other party’s losing nominee. Next week will see the leader of one party spewing venom at the other party’s leader and vice versa. We will see on PAC running ads not promoting their stance on an issue, but attacking the values of the alternative view. Not telling us why they’re right and the other view is wrong, but simply why those who believe opposite of them are a racist, or degenerate, or whatever attack they can make not to give their views substance, but to denigrate those who subscribe to the opposing view.
Can we get back to a place of civility in American politics and government? I don’t know.
But regardless of the leadership we are to follow, civility starts like all things in politics – at the local level.
We must learn to be civil to each other, we must learn to be respectful of each other, and most importantly we must learn to make our arguments in support of what we believe and now to denigrate those who believe opposite of us. Until we learn to do that, we are doomed to the same partisan bickering that has our country in a death spiral. AND make no mistake, that is the direction America is heading.
God Speed 41 and God Bless America,
Bill

Rant For The Week!!
Here is a little rant on a Tuesday evening for everyone to
enjoy.
1. With all the commotion about the Duggar family scandal,
I find it ironic that the press is giving Republican Presidential Candidate Mike
Huckabee a hard time for his friendship with this family when Democrat
Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton has been married to an accused sexual predator
for 40 years…….HMMMMM!!
2. Sad anniversary as today marks one year since
the JV….err…..ISIS took control of Iraqi city of Mosul.
3. In case you were counting, this year the Senate
has already voted on 31 bills. That’s impressive since last year, under the
supreme rule of Harry Reid; the Senate was only able to complete votes on 12
pieces of legislation.
4. Before Hillary is crowned the Democrat’s
successor to Obama, take a look at a recent Wisconsin straw pool which Hillary barely
won 49% to 41% over Bernie Sanders.
5. Remember last month when everyone in DC was
going crazy about Amtrak funding? Wonder what happened to that? OH YEAH…that Caitlyn chick…….
6. This week a Pakistani Court acquitted 8 of the
10 men who took part in the attack on 14 year old Malala Yousafzai. You
remember her; she wrote a women’s rights blog and was shot in the face by this
group of adult men while sitting on her school bus. Yeah….Pakistan….They’re our
friends!
7. By the way, when President Obama starts to give
President Putin advice about how to make his people happy he might want to
check on that. Putin’s approval ratings by Russian voters are in the 80% range
as polled by third party sources and not by the Russian media. Just to get an
idea of how big that is, it’s twice as high as Obama’s own approval rating by
American voters.
8. Lastly, today I was in a conversation discussing
the rough handling of the disrespectful young lady who caused much of the
problem in McKinney, Texas. I was asked how I would have reacted had that been
my child? I simply smiled and let them know that my child would have had enough
respect for the authorities and themselves to NOT be there.
Phew…..eight items and they’re short enough to read quickly….Just
some things to think about.

A Rant for the Fourth Week of June!!
I felt like I needed to shoot out a new rant and get this
blog up and running again……It’s been a while.
-
Hillary Clinton first claimed that her and Slick
Willie were poor upon leaving the White House…of course they made $12 million
the first year out of the white house and she was already a Senator getting
paid as such……But honestly…...It was hell for them.
-
Now Hillary claims that her and SW are not as
rich as other multi-millionaires (she made $5 million last year). If you just
go by those two numbers then they have cleared over $1 million a year since
leaving the White House and that does even include the other 11 years in
between. Go ahead Hillary….keep using that line of logic….that should connect
with common folk….or at least the DEM Lemmings!
-
The IRS requires seven years of records for
their auditing purposes, yet they can’t even keep up with emails from two years
ago that congress wants for their auditing purposes. I’m not sure why someone
doesn’t subpoena the NSA for the IRS’s emails……they gotta be there somewhere.
-
This week the President spoke with Russian
President Vladimir Putin and according to Josh Earnest, the new White House Propaganda
Minister…errrrr….Spokesman, the President told Putin that if he didn’t back
down from his current aggressive position that there would be “additional costs”
to pay for their aggression. I’m sure old Vlad is shaking in his boots over
that threat. Let’s see….the community organizer vs. the former KGB Colonel…….WHATEVER!!!!
-
Lastly, I am glad that the leaders of Texas have
taken the next step to help secure the southern border of the state from the
influx of illegal immigrants and criminals. Now if we could better control the
influx of immigrants across the rest of our borders from the liberal havens
like California before we are outnumbered.
Well there you go. I didn’t mention a few things, but I
intend to write about them in the coming days.
Thank You For Your Support,
Bill

The Benghazi Truth Must Be Heard
On September
11, 2012, Ambassador Chris Stevens, state department official Sean Smith, and
two members of Embassy Security and former Navy SEALs, Glen Doherty and Tyrone
Woods were MURDERED in Benghazi, Libya in a terrorist attack that was planned
and coordinated with Libyan forces tied to Al Qaeda. Sadly, the Obama Administration
and Hillary Clinton don’t care. In fact, they’d rather it go away just as that
tool Jay Carney has insinuated in his daily press briefings.
Back to the
story; at nightfall of this prolific date, 125 to 150 terrorists closed off
access to the state department facility in Benghazi and attacked with weapons
including AK-47s, NATO Firearms, hand-grenades, mortars, RPGs and other
military style weapons many of which were indirectly provided to these
terrorists to defeat Muammar Kaddafi by the same Obama Administration that
brought us a “Fast and Furious” program that lead to Border Patrol Agent Brian
Terry’s death.
Back to
Benghazi; today we had another round of testimony to the House Committee
investigating this incident and once again the Democrats on the committee
claimed that the Republicans were playing politics with this issue; however,
just as they often play the race card, the Democrats always seem to be the ones
who try and squeak out of their indiscretions by claiming that those who are investigating
are only doing so for reasons of political expediency, racism, sexism, or any
other ism that will project the
possibility of “disenfranchising” someone based on race, religion, or political
belief.
But this is
not about any of that, this is about responsibility for foreign diplomats and
the cover-up of events that lead to the death of four Americans who were neglected
and left to die at the hands of an Al Qaeda affiliate by an Administration that
has made a living recently selling the American people on the fact that they
have Al Qaeda on the run. Unfortunately, on this night the only place Al Qaeda
was running to was the Benghazi Consulate to kill Americans. And every since, the
Obama Administration and Hillary Clinton have lied and coerce people to
cover-up the facts that they were responsible for doing nothing to help those
poor souls.
This is an
issue that has been a huge concern and should be to us all as Americans.
September 11, 2012, is an anniversary that should hold huge significance when
dealing with security here at home much less a place like Libya where concern
for security should have been doubly significant and IT WASN’T.
Four men who
were in Libya serving their country were left to die by the very people who
sent them there. These very men reported early on that this was a terrorist
attack but President Obama and Secretary Clinton left them there to DIE. This
facility had been attacked twice before in the last year and judged to be
unable to stand up to an attack; yet there was the Ambassador holding meetings
there on September 11th – ON SEPTEMBER 11th!
When the
ambassador called to say this was an attack no one reacted to help and he was
left to die. Now state department officials and military leaders looking to
cover their asses have said there was no way to get anyone or any forces there in
time to help. But we know there were forces in Tripoli that wanted to go help
and they were denied that opportunity by their superiors.
We know that
Doherty and Powers held on for six or seven hours before they were finally
overrun and murdered when a single flight overhead by an aircraft could have
made all the difference. Believe it or not, air power has an amazing affect on
the psyche of a less sophisticated enemy. But no aircraft were sent and
flurries of excuses have been used to explain this.
We know that
there are Military Fast Response teams stationed in Europe that could have been
on scene in around four hours and that they were put on standby by Secretary of
Defense Leon Panetta, but those forces were later told to stand down by
administration officials. As a result, the Fast Response Team did not arrive
and Glen Doherty and Ty Woods were killed in the second attack that COULD HAVE
BEEN PREVENTED!
We know that
the so-called anti-Muslim video had nothing to do with the attack and that
there was never a demonstration because of that video. We know the Libyan
President stated this was a result of an attack from terrorist but the Obama
Administration and Hilary Clinton kept up the talk of this resulting from a
demonstration about this video.
Now the
administration and Clinton hold tight to the claims that this was all based on
poor intelligence from the CIA. By the way, that’s a lie also as the actual
talking points initially issued by the CIA were later published and spoke of
the truth while they were later changed greatly before being presented as the
fact by the White House and UN Ambassador Susan Rice.
But the real
insult is the fact that even though this was done there has been not even the
slightest hint of a modicum of responsibility by President Obama or by Hilary
Clinton. And why would they? They lied, won an election (aided by Candy Crowley
on this issue), and are set. Any responsibility now would only do irreparable harm
to a consistently failing Obama Administration and destroy the future
Presidential aspirations of Hillary Clinton.
In 2008
there was a Campaign ad by the Hillary Clinton Campaign that used the old
Reagan era adage of a call at 3:00 in the morning. Sadly, neither Hillary
Clinton nor Barack Obama showed the ability to answer that call when it
mattered. AND, unfortunately their incompetence and inaction prior to, during,
and following this incident resulted in the needless deaths of four Americans.
Four men who
were not just names on a page or faces in a picture but men with wives,
children, parents, friends and colleagues. These were men who would sit down to
breakfast with their loved ones, fished with their kids, played golf with their
friends, watched football on Sunday and lived among us. These were Americans
like you and me who were in Libya representing their country and deserved opportunity
to live.
During my
years in the Navy, working overseas in all corners of the world, I had the
opportunity to serve with confidence under four Presidents. And even though these Presidents all handled
matters with different degrees of covert and overt operations, we always felt
like we would never be left completely on our own.
Too bad we
can’t say that for these four brave Americans.
How about
some truth Mr. President?
Enjoy Retirement
Hillary. And by the way; IT DOES MATTER!
God Bless
the four we all lost,
Bill

My Newest Rant!!
Here are a
few of the things that have got me going this week.
1. The Italian Supreme Court has ruled that Amanda
Knox will be tried again in the Italian courts for murder and that if she is
found guilty then the Italian government will ask for her extradition. First
off, I guess the Italians have never heard of Double Jeopardy. Don’t worry
Amanda, they would never get the extradition and they really can’t threaten
anyone. I mean their track record of using force over the last 200 years has
shown them unable to beat anything but an egg.
2. An
Alameda County, California Administrator who earns around $422,000.00 a year
and will continue to do so even after she retires. I was going to write a major
comment on how the President only makes $400,000.00 a year and has a little
more to worry about than the Alameda County Administrator. But then I realized;
who cares, it’s Alameda County?
3. Hilary Clinton resigned as Secretary of State
claiming to have visited more countries than any other Secretary of State;
however, like her boss, no one can remember her ever visiting a country of any
consequence when it really mattered. Now I’m not a John Kerry fan by any means,
but at great pain to myself I have to give him a little credit. In just a
little over a month he has visited some pretty rough regions and handed out
some pretty tough warnings. I just hope he doesn’t have to back them up, that’s
when he’ll find out who he’s working for and then he’ll find out what those in
Benghazi did.
4. America must be proud of the president sending
Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi to Pope Francis’ inauguration. I mean here’s a
Catholic lady who is on the outs with
her Bishop and a vice-president who, as a Catholic, wouldn’t kiss the papal
ring because his Momma told him he deserves more respect than even the Pope.
And she’s right, just look at his career filled with lying, racial, plagiaristic
comments, what’s not to respect – NICE JOB JOE!
5. We are halfway through the bi-annual legislative
session here in Texas and to date there hasn’t been anything of consequence to
happen out of the ordinary. The only thing I can think of that has been
proposed is to move the primary date up so that Texas will have more of a say
in future presidential elections. Here’s a thought, how about the RNC and the
DNC get together and decide on a primary date for all the states and let all
the primaries happen on the same date. Yes I know that is a states right issue;
however, the two parties could make it happen by limiting delegates for states
not cooperating. Of course it requires the legislating of the legislators which
is always an almost impossible legislative task.
Well, hang
in there. I’ll think of all of you while I’m in Vegas!! Maybe I’ll take a few minutes
to write while I’m there…..then again, maybe not!!

Benghazi Hearings Rant – The Reality of the Situation.
So I’ve only
discussed this a little bit, but after today’s performance from Secretary of
State Hillary Clinton, I feel like making a little rant to get some things off
my chest. First of all I think I speak for most people when I say that I am
very tired of the overuse of the phrase, “with all due respect.”
When I was
in the Navy we were always taught to have respect for our seniors and not to
disagree with them in public unless we first use the phrase, “with all due
respect.” So using that phrase is equivalent to a lady in the south starting a
comment about another person with the phrase, “Bless her/his little heart.”
Today I must
have heard that phrase about a million times and in this overly-charged, politically-correct
world that we live in I think it’s time for us to remove some of that political
correctness and just lay it out as it really is. So here we go!!
The Benghazi
debacle is the biggest bunch of SNAFU that I have seen since the stained dress,
or Iran-Contra, or Watergate, or Scooter Libby, or the….well hell, I can’t go
into them all, but safe it to say this is a mess and the real truth is pretty
well been figured out but no one wants to just come out and admit to it all.
Today we had
congressmen questioning the Secretary of State. Each of them got a whopping
five minutes of time to question her and except for Secretary Clinton; NOONE
was prepared for the day’s events. Between the grandstanding by the congressmen
and the evasive avoidance of answering a question once posed, nothing was
accomplished except a lot of cross talk and that smelly stuff you try not to
step in while in a stable.
Now I am not
going to get into too many details as I do not want to bore anyone and I am not
writing a book, which I could with this mess. But I will touch on the main
points and the ridiculousness of this all. First let’s go with the part that
bothers me the most. Libya one of the hotbeds of foreign troubles then and now
should have been one of the priorities of the foreign service; however, the new
embassy in Tripoli and the consulate in Benghazi had less security as far as physical
barriers and security personnel than those in England and France – HUH.
Just seems
like this a war zone and the countless requests for more security from the
personnel on the ground in Libya it would appear logical for more security to
be provided here. But apparently, due to
the small number of personnel assigned to the embassy staff in Libya, more
security was not authorized. Apparently the size of the staff and not the
security of the country is the deciding factor involved with determining the size
of the security detail assigned.
Of course
the four State Department individuals responsible for this lack of common sense
were later suspended from service as a publicity stunt with a Friday afternoon
press release; however, they were later reassigned to other departments in the
state department. So apparently their ineptness that resulted in the death of
four people, including the U.S. Ambassador, was not enough to warrant their permanent
removal from the service – AMAZING!!
Then let’s
look at the talking points that were designed to deal with the immediate fallout
associated with this horrible event. Within 24 hours most everyone on the planet
with even a modicum of intelligence knew this was a terrorist attack. But the
Obama Administration’s story that this was a demonstration that got out of hand
was the story that the administration went forward with for two weeks because they
either thought no one would find out the truth, or that as a populace us
Americans were just gullible enough to accept this ridiculous explanation.
Today
Secretary Clinton tried to walk that back and say that she and the President both
called it a specific act of terrorism right from the beginning. But other than
speaking in generalities about the evil of terrorism n general, neither of them
called it terrorism and both taped Public Service Announcements (or
commercials) that played on Arab television apologizing for the video they
continued to blame for the incident. Meanwhile four American families are
burying their murdered loved ones back here in the states.
They
believed that us American suckers would buy this whole story hook, line, and
sinker. They even rolled out U.N. Ambassador (and former Secretary of State
hopeful) Susan Rice to go on the Sunday morning new show circuit and recite
this finely crafted lie in hopes that Americans would buy this poisoned bill of
goods; and guess what, far too many of the voters did.
But now we
know the truth, Rice was unleashed with a set of talking points designed to
blame the deaths of these fine men on a video and not disclose the inadequate
capabilities of the Secretary of State, her staff, the intelligence community
at large, and even the President himself. Today Clinton said she was not there
when these talking points were developed but that is a point of discussion also
since there are currently five differing lists of who were in those meetings
and she is on two of them. Which begs another questions, if there was a group meeting
to determine what had happened and she was in Washington then why wasn’t she in
that meeting?
Today, a
rattled Hillary Clinton made the screaming statement that it did not matter if
it was an organized attack or a group of individuals who decided to kill some
Americans. Well I beg to differ when you reason in the fact that just a few
days ago American intelligence and the Foreign Service missed the very organized
attack on the petroleum production site in Algeria. An organized attack that
utilized many weapons that will probably be traced back to the Libyans rebels
we aided.
It would be
interesting to find out how many of the weapons used in Algeria actually came
from Libya. Of course we would have to be able to trace those weapons and since
the current administration can’t even trace the weapons they allowed to be
illegally sold and smuggled into Mexico, well I guess we’re not going to get
anywhere with that investigation either. See how far the ineptness goes when
there is a leadership vacuum at the top.
Today
Secretary Clinton said that serving overseas in the Foreign Service was
inherently dangerous and those who served knew that when they signed on. But I
am sure they figured they would be given the resources to do their jobs with at
least a minimum of security requirements. When I was in the Navy and we were
overseas I always knew that many times we would be in a dangerous situation;
you kind of take that for granted. But whether the President was Reagan, Bush,
Clinton, or Bush again; I never felt like we were inadequately provided at
least that minimal amount of security.
Then there
is the argument that Hillary Clinton made trying to lessen the importance of
the State Departments incompetence. She tried to rationalize their deaths by
saying that they knew their job was hazardous and that their acceptance of that
knowledge essentially excused the State Department for the incompetence that
cost them their lives; as ludicrous and asinine as that sounds that is precisely
why she made that statement.
Later, Secretary
Clinton, with the help of several liberal congressmen, went on to attack
congress for a failure to fund the state Department with enough funds to
provide the proper security in Libya. But the truth is the Military made an
offer to augment the Libyan embassy security staff and that offer was rejected
by State Department personnel. You know, those folks who were suspended on a
Friday and working in another department with the month – BRILLIANT!!
Maybe if the
State Department would have saved some money on Secretary Clinton’s travel, or if
the Obama Administration had not funded those thoroughbreds like Solyndra, they
might have been able to afford the additional security.
Well that is
not the end of it, but that is all I am going to write about this evening. I
feel like that is enough to ingest this evening. In the future I intend to
praise the positive and hammer the negative that occurs in Washington, Austin,
and for me, right here in Milam County, Texas.
With All Due
Respect…Goodnight!!

New Rant for Y’all
Well I’m
sitting here watching the first presidential debate and I thought I would just
hit you with a short little rant!!
1.
Just a short note on taxes, you can raise more
money by building a larger tax base far easier than by raising taxes – PERIOD.
You can raise taxes on businesses, and small business owners but that just prevents
them from hiring new people who in turn will be a bigger drain on government entitlements.
So if you keep taxes low and allow those business owners to take that money and
invest it, then they will hire new employees who will pay taxes thereby growing
the tax base by generating more revenue in businesses and with more people
earning an income instead of receiving entitlements.
2.
Yes we need regulations in the marketplace; but
when they are so strict that they limit business at every step of the way, then
they are too restrictive. Currently bureaucratic government regulatory efforts
are stifling new business. This must change!!
3.
In the world of the never-ending nightmare, United
States Secretary of State Hilary Clinton was once again shown to be running an
ill-prepared-to-handle-the-world organization as exposed by the attack on the
consulate in Benghazi. It seems that the company in charge of the security
there (Blue Mountain Libya) could not get the support and aide from their
parent company (Blue Mountain UK) and requested help from a third party but the
state Department’s Contract Officer would not approve that and said the threat was
not that bad. Now they will not let the FBI in to investigate the scene because
they said it was too dangerous – imagine that!!
4. When will liberals understand that the states
are better prepared to handle what goes on with programs that serve their constituents
more than the federal government? EXAMPLE…..I doubt the cost of living is the
same in Texas as it is in Massachusetts. My family and I can live comfortable
on $100,000.00 a year in Texas, but I bet I would be struggling in Boston. The
same plan that will work in Massachusetts WILL NOT work for the entire nation
as a whole. Oh and by the way, the plan in Massachusetts did not raise taxes; ObamaCare
(did you know Microsoft Word autocorrects for ObamaCare) has at least 22 new
taxes in it.
5.
By the way, while we keep talking about
comprehensive bills addressing issues like medical care, immigration, energy,
taxes, and others; the true way to address them is by individual bills that
address specific issues, not one all encompassing, comprehensive bill. There
has NEVER been a successful Comprehensive bill ever!!
Well that’s
it for right now. I am going to watch the last 30 minutes of the debate and
then take four aspirin and hit the sack before I get sick!!
Ya’ll hang
in there; we just have a short time to go until we are done with the election!!
Where’s that
Aspirin?

A New Rant for Y’all
Okay folks, here is a new rant for you this week. I know you’ll love it!!
1.
Campaign finance numbers are in for June and here
are the results:
a.
President Obama raised $46 million and spent $58
million.
b.
Mitt Romney raised $33 million and spent $27.5
million.
Results: Even in Campaign mode
President Obama works at a deficit!!
2.
Congrats to ABC News for jumping the gun and removing
all doubt that they are the left-leaning news source we all knew them to be.
During the Friday morning news programs ABC reporter Brian Ross tried to tie
the Aurora, Colorado shooter to the Tea Party. Outstanding job in quality
reporting once again from a news source that claims to be a leading player in
quality news – WHATEVER!!
3.
Another congrats goes out the New York Mayor
Mike Bloomberg and PBS newsman Bill Moyer who is also a New York City resident.
Both have already jumped the gun calling for stricter gun-control laws;
however, what neither wants to talk about is the fact that they reside in a
city with arguably the strictest gun-control laws in the country and still had
to confiscate over 4,000 guns last year. Most of which were taken AFTER being
used in a crime which means that there are probably many more illegal firearms
throughout New York City. Nice job of using a tragic event to push a liberal
idea that clearly has not worked in THEIR OWN HOMETOWN!!
4.
In the world of the never-ending nightmare, United
States Secretary of State Hilary Clinton was heckled and had tomatoes thrown at
her motorcade on her way out of Cairo, Egypt. And all of this occurred while
the Arab mob heckled her to chants of “MONICA, MONICA!!” See, even in an Arab
speaking country they can still pronounce Monica correctly – imagine that!!
But in a
moment of seriousness, I would like to say God Bless the folks in Aurora. I
think I speak for most folks when I say our prayers are with you all. And God
Speed Sally Ride, you were a role model for little girls and a hero to us all.

Gore Begot the Internet, Obama Begot the Hybrid?
This week
Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood claimed that through the efforts of the
Obama Administration the hybrid car industry had been jump-started. LaHood then
startlingly asked the question of who would have thought you would have seen a
Lexus Hybrid two years ago?
WELL…….ME!!!!
That’s
because the Lexus Hybrid came out in 2005, which for those of you interested in
statistics would mean that Lexus gave us their hybrid seven years ago. So,
since seven years is more than two years I guess Secretary LaHood must not have
gotten the memo. But who knows, Maybe President Obama was working hard as an
Illinois state congressman to get the hybrid made.
And we
thought Al Gore was a tremendous asset with his invention, The Internet?
Well
Secretary LaHood needs to look a little closer at facts before he opens the old
mouth. It was actually during the Clinton Administration that hybrids were
first made a real priority by requiring that car companies develop useable
hybrid models to help conserve energy and improve the environment. Yeah, I know
you all never expected me to give credit to the Clinton administration for
being involved in this, but there they are. Of course years later the time requirements
were lengthened and/or lowered as the development of the hybrids met certain
development issues that needed to be addressed and overcome.
As time went
by though car companies like GM put these developments on the back burner and
actually worked to slow the development of electric vehicles with their recall
of and consequent destruction of their EV-1 electric car (which was very popular
with consumers) and then the purchase of the most up-to-date battery manufacturer
to stop the production of the batteries that would revolutionize hybrid and
electric vehicles.
But while GM
and Chrysler proceeded very slowly if at all, foreign auto manufacturers and
Ford (through their partnership with Mazda) set out to produce these hybrids
with the knowledge that an increase in world oil use would mean these vehicles
would eventually be in more demand in the coming years. As a result of these companies
and their diligent work, cars like the Toyota Prius and Ford Escort hybrid began
to be common place on American roads in the last three or four years and have been
in high demand during gas price hikes making them more of the norm on the road
today.
So while a
RINO like Ray LaHood might be impressed with, and in many ways helping to
create the propaganda that the Obama Administration lives on, I guess they feel
the need to make up some good news and achievements for their sad performance
rather than try and run for reelection on the President’s tremendous record of
achievements.
What’s that…Record…..Oh Yeah, I forgot. Never mind
Guess I’ll
still be waiting for the hybrid F-150!
Where are my
keys?

When to Say When

Okay – the North Koreans have nukes. They have tested the missiles over and over like last 4th of July, a few weeks ago, and several other times in the last few years. All that our government has said is, “ah, there’s no worries until they get a nuclear (or is it Nucular) warhead.”
Well guess what folks, they have it and they tested it underground this last weekend – Memorial Day weekend. Get it, test the missile on the 4th of July and test the nuke on Memorial Day. Got to give it to ole Kim Jong Il, he can read an American holiday calendar.
Seriously, NO ONE has done squat on this issue since Bill Clinton was president (and yes, that did hurt to say). Well, I mean nothing significant. Now there’s been a lot of talk by Bush and letter writing by Obama, but nothing that will create any results. I think it is time for the President to stand up and DO something.
What is it he will likely do? Pressure China, no wait, we can’t do that, who would loan us the money to pay for the stimulus or the new $3.6 trillion budget. Military strike, maybe about ten years too late but what the heck. Shake our fist and rattle our chains…Ahh, the old standby.
Well this one is not above President Obama’s pay grade. Actually, nothing is above his pay grade anymore and he now has to step forward and take some action.
I’m moving into the Bunker,
Bill
