Not that this is entirely directed to the Iowa Caucus, I just wanted to put out a rant tonight and this happened to be the night of the Iowa Caucus. Here you go!!
1. First off, I have the method for fixing the income tax issue. Quit taking it out of our paychecks and allow everyone to receive all their money and have to write a check to pay their taxes. Let them see what they are really sending to the federal government; then their perspective might change some. Of course that will only affect half the U.S. Population as the other half pays no taxes anyway.
2. Since most people in America fail to take notice of things outside of the U.S.; take notice of this. In India, male children are preferred so much more than female children that female babies are being aborted at such a rate that within the next decade there will be around 300 females in India for every 1000 males. Wonder how that will work in India’s population control?
3. Well the President is back for another round of the “debt-ceiling raise” dance. But don’t worry, this time it will be much easier because of the bill signed into law in August of last year. You remember, it’s the bill that established the Super-Committee – How’s that working for ya?? Now all the President has to do is make the request, and when the congress refuses, he vetoes the refusal and the increase goes into effect. So in August the debt-ceiling was raised to $15.2 Trillion and now President Obama says he needs another $1.2 Trillion to $16.4 Trillion dollars – REALLY?
4. Senator Charles Schumer had something to celebrate this holiday season as his brother-in-law was selected for appointment to the federal bench by the President. Pretty sweet gig as once he is approved, it carries a lifetime appointment and starts with a salary of $174,000.00 a year!!
5. Lastly, in honor of the Iowa Caucus, I just want to remind everyone not to put too much weight on this. While all votes are important, you have to put the Iowa Caucus in perspective. There are approximately 140,000 people in Iowa who will take part in the caucus tonight. That’s roughly less and 1/10th of 1% of the total voting age population of the United States. So while Iowa is as important as any other state, just keep in mind that we are a LONG way from being decided on the GOP candidate for the President.
Well, there are five tidbits of useful information for you to think about. I’ll collect some more and we’ll go from there. Enjoy your week and let’s get ready for the New Hampshire Primary!!!
Thanks,
Bill
